MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) in Cagayan will produce cloudy to rainy weather in parts of Luzon, the state weather bureau reported.

According to a weather forecast of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Tuesday afternoon, the trough of the LPA will bring rains over parts of northern Luzon.

“‘Yong buntot niya or ‘yong trough, nagdudulot ng maulap na panahon at mataas na tsansa ng maulan, pagkidlat, at pagkulog dito sa Cagayan Valley region, sa Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), dito sa Aurora, at Quezon province,” said Pagasa weather specialist Loriedin dela Cruz-Galicia.

The LPA has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, Pagasa noted.

Nevertheless, Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Palawan, and Bicol region will also be affected by the downpours from the southwest monsoon.

The same condition will prevail in Visayas and Mindanao due to the monsoon.
