MANILA, Philippines — Rain will still persist over a large part of the country due to the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, even as clear skies remain possible in portions of Luzon, including Metro Manila, on Thursday.
Based on the weather forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), rains will continue over the western sections of Southern Luzon, as well as Visayas, and Mindanao.
It also indicated that no tropical cyclones or low pressure areas are expected to affect the country from today through the weekend.
“Patuloy pa rin ang pag-ulan sa malaking bahagi ng ating bansa dulot pa rin ng habagat o southwest monsoon particularly sa may western sections ng southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao,” said Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja.
“Sa natitirang bahagi ng Luzon, kabilang na ang Metro Manila, fair weather condition naman, minsan maaraw, madalas bahagyang maulap ang kalangitan,” he added.
