DILG Secretary Benjamin Abalos, Jr. said BFP and the city government are now on the site and were instructed to coordinate with the private electric company that owns the electric posts.

Abalos said they would provide “appropriate assistance to the affected individuals and help in clearing out the area.”

He likewise encouraged other local chief executives “to inspect electric posts, construction sites, billboards, and other similar installations” in their respective cities to avoid similar incidents from happening again during inclement weather.

“A memorandum circular will be issued regarding the matter to ensure compliance and prompt action,” DILG said in a statement.
