MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and most parts of Luzon will continue to experience overcast skies with rains due to southwest monsoon or habagat until Thursday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported cloudy skies and rain in Wednesday’s update.

Aside from the metropolis, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to habagat are also expected in Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, the rest of Central Luzon, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) and Mimaropa (Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan).

Occasional rains due to habagat are also expected in the Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan.

The rest of the country, including the entire Visayas and Mindanao, expect generally fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

Pagasa, meanwhile, also raised a gale warning in the seaboards of Batanes, the northern coast of Ilocos Norte, and the north coast of Cagayan, including the Babuyan Islands, due to the northeast monsoon or amihan.

The areas are expecting rough to very rough seas with 2.8 to 4.5 meters of waves.

“Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” the state weather bureau said in its gale warning advisory.
