MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Falcon (international name: Khanun) is now outside Philippine area of responsibility, state meteorologists announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Falcon went out of PAR at around 3:30 pm, based on the latest update from Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s (Pagasa).

Despite having gone out the archipelago, Falcon will still enhance the southwest monsoon or habagat.

For this reason, Pagasa forecasts rainy weather in some parts of Luzon and Visayas until Thursday.

Meanwhile, outside PAR, the storm may develop into a super typhoon.

“Falcon is potentially at its peak intensity at this time and likely to maintain its strength for the next 48 hours,’ Pagasa said.

“Intensification into a super typhoon is not ruled out,” the bureau noted.

“The enhanced southwest monsoon will also bring gusty conditions,”  it added.

Gale warning is in effect over the northern seaboard on northern Luzon due to Falcon-induced monsoon rains.
