MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on Tuesday waived the fee for the issuance of Overseas Employment Certificates (OEC) for rehires or “balik-manggagawa.”
According to DMW, this directive under Memorandum No. 110 should be effective starting July 29.
“In the interest of the service and in accordance with the Department Circular No. 02, Series of 2023, the issuance of all forms of OEC for rehires or Balik-Manggagawa shall be free of charge effective July 29, 2023,” the memorandum reads.
“As such, the issuance of manual or digital OEC will not require the issuance of an Official Receipt,” it added.
Last July 21, DMW launched its Mobile App-OFW Pass, accessible for download in Google Play and Apple Store.
OFW pass is a digital and secure version of the OEC, or the digital identity of migrant workers, which needs to be processed on-site with a P100 application fee.
