SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. on Wednesday ordered the suspension of classes and work in this province due to Typhoon Egay (international name: Doksuri).
In an advisory, Ebdane suspended classes at all levels and work in both public and private agencies due to moderate to heavy rains with gusty wind.
But Ebdane said agencies involved in the delivery of basic health services, preparedness, or response to disasters and calamities would continue with their operations and render the necessary services.
In nearby Olongapo City, Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. also announced the suspension of classes at all levels in public and private schools.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), Egay has weakened into a typhoon and made landfall at 3:10 a.m. over Fuga Island in Aparri, Cagayan
Egay might also make another landfall over northwestern Cagayan as it moves westward at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour, Pagasa said.
