MANILA, Philippines — Two individuals were arrested, and over P1 million worth of suspected crystal methamphetamine or “shabu” were seized by authorities in Quezon City, police reported on Monday.

Operatives of Novaliches Police Station and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency identified suspects Barry Bueno and Christina Basa, both 43, along Barangay San Bartolome, last July 23.

QCPD said Bueno and Basa’s arrest stemmed from a tip reported by a concerned citizen detailing their alleged drug-related activities and location.

It added the suspects were nabbed in a buy-bust operation after selling P44,000 worth of shabu to a police officer who had posed as a buyer.

Police confiscated 200 grams of shabu worth P1,360,000 from the suspects’ belongings.

Other evidence seized from them were a mobile phone, sling bag, and buy-bust money.

QCPD said Bueno and Basa will face complaints for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Act of 2002.
