Shabu worth P102,000 seized in QC buy-bust operation
MANILA, Philippines— The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Friday seized 15 grams of shabu worth P102,000 during a buy-bust operation held in Balintawak, Quezon City.
The District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) Chief PMAJ Hector Ortencio said in a report that the three drug dealers identified as Edgardo Bergano, Marilyn Bautista, and Jomarie Valdez were arrested after a concerned citizen tipped them off.
The authorities “conducted a buy-bust operation after a concerned citizen reported the drug peddling activity of the suspects. Said operatives apprehended the suspects and confiscated 15 grams of shabu worth Php102,000, a brown coin purse, a cellular phone, and the buy-bust money,” said the QCPD’s Public Information Office.
The suspects will face charges in violation of Republic Act. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 at the QC Prosecutor’s Office.
“Ang matagumpay na mga operasyon ng DDEU ay isang patunay na seryoso ang aming kampanya laban sa iligal na droga at patuloy kaming magsasagawa ng mga malawakang operasyon upang sugpuin ang suliraning ito,” said QCPD director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III.
(The successful operations of the DDEU are proof that we are serious about fighting illegal drugs, and we will continue these large operations to stop this problem.)
