Over 11,000 affected by Typhoon Egay in Western Visayas, Northern Mindanao — NDRRMC
MANILA, Philippines — Over 11,000 individuals from Western Visayas and Northern Mindanao were affected by Typhoon Egay (international name: Doksuri), the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in its situational report on Monday.
The NDRRMC said that of the 3,300 families or 11,185 people affected by the typhoon, 10,754 are from Western Visayas and 431 from Northern Mindanao.
A total of 1,196 are staying in five evacuation centers in the two regions, the NDRRMC added.
Seven houses were also partially damaged.
No casualties have so far been reported.
Article continues after this advertisementAs of 11:00 a.m., the center of Egay was tracked some 525 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora, packing maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 185 kph, according to the state weather bureau.
