CVIRAA rips Don Bosco to claim boys 12 crown
Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) teams had contrasting fates in yesterday’s second day of the 1st BRO National Football Festival at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
While the younger CVIRAA team blanked the Don Bosco Silver Hawk, 4-0, to clinch the boys 12 title, their older counterpart lost to Dumaguete’s Antony FC, 2-3, via penalty shootout after their boys 17 finals match ended in a 1-all draw.
In the boys 12, Glen Thomas Ramos found the back of the net twice while the rest of the goals were scored by John Joseph Rena and Aries Libatog.
In the boys 17 finals, Rogelio Castellon Jr. scored first for CVIRAA via a free kick. Antony FC scored in a similar fashion courtesy of Ricky Ryan Ragay.
In the penalty shootout, CVIRAA’s scorers were Nikolai Villacin and Jun Jay Arizabal.
Antony FC’s scorers were Ragay, Mayol Ruete and Carlo Lara.

Another out of town team finished with the boys 14 title with Central Mindanao University of Bukidnon blanking Mandaue Technical Institute, 2-0.
Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) 5-A scored a 3-0 rout of DBTC 2002 for the players 10 title. The players 8 title was won by Canduman FC with a 1-0 victory over Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu.
Today’s penultimate day of the tournament will have the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds of the men’s open.
Aside from the men’s open, titles to be won today are boys 16 and 18, ladies open, executive 40 and inter-BPO.
