/ 10:26 PM April 21, 2012

Metro Manila sizzled at 35.9 degrees Celsius Saturday, the highest temperature recorded in the capital so far this year, the weather bureau said.

The reading was taken at Science Garden in Quezon City at around 3 p.m. on Saturday.

“We’re directly hit by the heat because there are no bands of clouds,” said weather observer Ben Oris.

The record to beat is 37 degrees Celsius, taken on April 4, 2007. TJ Burgonio
