PNP reshuffles 11 ranking police officials

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines National Police (PNP) reassigned 11 ranking police officials to new posts effective on Tuesday, July 18.

Following the order of PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr., Special Action Force (SAF) deputy director Brig. Gen. Rizalito Gapas was named acting Northern Police District (NPD) director, replacing Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr., who was then assigned as acting chief of the Legislative Affairs Center (LAC) of the PNP Directorate for Plans.

Peñones replaced Brig. Gen. Nicolas Salvador, who is now the PNP deputy director for plans, while SAF chief of staff Col. Manuel Abrugena was reassigned to Gapas’ position as SAF deputy director.

Meanwhile, Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Kirby John Kraft became the acting director of the Caraga Police Regional Office (PRO). Kraft replaced Brig. Gen. Pablo Gacayan Labra II, who was transferred to the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit (PHAU) of the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management.

On the other hand, Caraga PRO deputy chief for administration Brig. Gen. Roderick Mariano replaced Kraft as SPD director.

Below are the other six officials who were assigned to new posts:

  • Col. Frankie Candelario transferred from the Northern Mindanao PRO to the PNP Intelligence Group
  • Col. Jason Capoy (from Police Security and Protection Group to PNP Academy
  • Col. Jun Mark Lagare (from the Intelligence Group to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group)
  • Col. Cresenciano Landicho (from PHAU to Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management)
  • Col. Rex Arvin Malimban (from PNPA to SAF)
  • Col. Eleazar Matta (from the Information Technology Management Service to Caraga PRO)
