The suspension of classes in Quezon City for Marcos’ second Sona comes as several schools started or are about to begin their School Year 2023-2024 this week. Jeepney groups, meanwhile, are also planning to mount a transport strike on Monday, in time for the Sona. They are accusing the national government of giving preferential treatment to corporations and local governments regarding routes rather than supporting transport cooperatives.
