Powerade, Petron finalize deal that sends Lassiter, Cruz to Blaze Boosters

The Powerade Tigers and the Petron Blaze Boosters finally got to finish the trade that both teams have been working hard to consummate as they stock up on their talent for the upcoming PBA Governor’s Cup.

After several revisions, the Tigers and the Blaze Boosters have agreed to a trade that will send Petron’s Rookie of theYear Rabeh Al Hussaini, former Letran star and 2010 third overall pick Rey Guevara and shooter Lordy Tugade to Powerade in exchange for Fil-American forward Marcio Lassiter and veteran guard Celino Cruz.

“We are very happy with this trade. We are getting a much-needed big man in Rabeh and getting two shooters in Guevara and Tugade,” said Coca-Cola governor Ronnie Asuncion in a statement to the press.

Powerade coach Bo Perasol welcomed the trade expected to make his team a stronger contender in the remainder of the season.

“I stand by the trade. I am confident this will work in achieving our goal of snaring a championship,” said Perasol.

Al Hussaini led Ateneo to several championships in the UAAP while Guevara is a proven scorer in the NCAA. Tugade, a product of National U together with Danny Ildefonso, is also a certified shooter, having won championships in the PBA with Red Bull and San Miguel Beer.

Both teams proposed the trade earlier this conference but it was denied by PBA Commissioner Chito Salud./with reports from PR
