LUCENA CITY – Police anti-narcotics operatives arrested two suspected big-time drug traffickers early Wednesday, July 12, and seized 38 kilos of marijuana, or “weed,” in Bacoor City, Cavite province.
In a spot report, Colonel Christopher Olazo, Cavite police chief, said members of the city drug enforcement unit held Christian Kyle Dueñas and Rodolfo Bautista around 3:15 a.m. after they sold P10,000 worth of “weed” to an undercover cop in Barangay Molino 1.
Authorities seized 38 packs of dried marijuana leaves wrapped in plastic weighing 38 kilos and with an estimated street value of P4,560,000.
The police were tracking the source of the illegal hemp.
In a statement, Brigadier General Carlito Gaces, Police Region 4A commander, commended Olazo and Lieutenant Colonel Jesson Bombasi, Bacoor City police chief, for the arrest of the suspects, both classified as “high-value” targets in the government’s drug war.
Meanwhile, a woman drug trader was arrested on Tuesday by policemen in Sta. Cruz town in Laguna province and seized shabu (crystal meth) worth P340,000.
The Police Region 4A said in a report that local drug enforcers nabbed Sarah Gomez in a sting operation in Barangay Pagsawitan around 8:30 a.m.
The suspect, tagged as a high-value individual in the local drug trade, was found in possession of two plastic sachets of meth weighing 50 grams.
