Excellent 1st year of Marcos Jr. presidency — Sen. Tulfo

MANILA, Philippines — Senator Raffy Tulfo on Monday saidPresident Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. had an excellent first year by working for the good of the country without pinning the country’s problems on the past administration.
“Well of course PBBM would mention his accomplishments and with what I saw, he has done many things. For me if you’ll ask me how would I rate him […] I think he did an excellent job, he’s doing an excellent job if we consider that he shouldered several problems from the previous administration,” Tulfo told reporters in a briefing at the Senate.
“But despite that, unlike his predecessor, na sinisisi ‘yong pinagmanahan niyang problema, ‘yan ang gusto ko kay BBM hindi siya naninisi, hindi niya sinasabi na ‘kaya naghihirap tayo ngayon, kaya nagkaroon ng problema ngayon dahil sa previous administration, previous president’. He’s not like that, he continues doing what he thinks is good, is best,” he added.
(But despite that, unlike his predecessor, who blamed the past administration for the country’s problems — that’s what I like with BBM because he did not blame anyone, he did not say that ‘the reason why we are in poverty is because of the previous administration, previous president’. He’s not like that, he continues doing what he thinks is good, what he thinks is best.)
Tulfo also cited Marcos’ different foreign trips where the President reintroduced the Philippines as an achievement.
He, however, he admitted that he is eager to know when these investment pledges would reap dividends and how much would it impact the country’s economy.
“Ang nakita kong magandang accomplishment niya, marami siyang ginawang trips sa iba-ibang bansa, and because of that marami siyang nai-tap na magiging economic partners natin, investors, which is good. And nakita ko rin very serious siya sa kalagayan ng ating mga OFWs,” Tulfo said.
(Another accomplishment is that he made many overseas trips, and because of that he has tapped many possible economic partners, investors, which is good. And I also saw that he is very serious with the welfare and situation of our OFWs.)
