DAVAO CITY — At least 33 people were injured when a passenger jeepney rolled over on the edge of a roadside cliff in Maco town, Davao de Oro on Tuesday, police on Wednesday said.
The accident happened as the red jeepney (plate number LWL-736), driven by Renario Apat and owned by Laude Rosita, was travelling to Apex Mining Complex in Masara village with 32 passengers onboard at around 6:40 a.m., Major Catherine Dela Rey, Davao regional police spokesperson said.
While descending a curve, the vehicle veered off the road and tumbled several times over on the grassy portion of the cliff, slightly injuring all those onboard, Dela Rey added.
Most of the passengers are employees of the mining firm.
