Defense Secretary Gilbert (Gibo) Teodoro expressed support for the “Water is Life” reforestation project of the Philippine Army’s Armor Division and the nongovernment organization Tarlac Heritage Foundation, visiting the project site in the division’s camp in Tarlac.

Teodoro, who hails from Tarlac, joined proponents of the project in harvesting water spinach from plots on the site of the project, which has expanded to food-growing to supply the needs of soldiers from the division and also Kadiwa markets that sell goods at lower prices.

Teodoro told project proponents he found Water is Life as an appropriate campaign to help mitigate climate change and promote food security for the Army.
