MANILA, Philippines — The ridge of a high-pressure area (HPA) will bring fair and warm weather in Luzon, while overcast skies and rain showers are expected in eastern parts of Visayas and Mindanao due to easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Monday.
According to Pagasa, the ridge of HPA and easterlies will prevail in Luzon and the eastern portions of Visayas and Mindanao, respectively, but rain showers will likely occur nationwide from afternoon to evening due to localized thunderstorms.
“Dito sa bahagi ng Luzon ay generally fair weather may high pressure area po dyan na syang nagdadala ng maaliwalas na panahon particular na sa umaga hanggang sa tanghali,” weather specialist Obet Badrina said in an early morning forecast.
(The weather is generally fair in Luzon since a high-pressure area brings clear weather, especially in the morning until noon.)
“Habang dulot ng easterlies ay maulap na kalangitan naman sa silangang bahagi ng Visayas at Mindanao,” he added.
(Conversely, easterlies will cause cloudy skies in the eastern part of Visayas and Mindanao.)
Badrina further noted that Pagasa had not monitored any weather disturbance that may affect the country in the next three days.
Meanwhile, he said no gale warning had been raised in the country’s coastal waters.
