Libyan nabbed for hitting woman

A LIBYAN national was arrested for hitting a woman who refused to dance with him in a resto bar in Gen. Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City.

Ahmaed Geryani, 23, was arrested by a policeman who happened to be in the area when the beating occurred at dawn yesterday.

Geryani is studying in an English course in Cebu City.

The complainant, who asked not to be named, said she was with friends drinking in a resto bar when a Korean approached their table and asked if he could dance with her. The woman declined.

Later, Geryani also asked her for a dance and was turned down. The woman said Geryani got irked, called her “ugly” and hit her in the jaw. The woman said she kicked a plastic chair toward the foreigner, which resulted in a commotion.

PO2 Philip Alcazar stepped in and brought Geryani to the Fuente police precinct. CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
