Former guard killed

A FORMER security guard was shot and killed while walking home in barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.

Alfonso Blanco, 45, died on the spot with a gunshot wound in the head.

Police said Blanco was walking home in Caballes Compound when an unidentified man appeared from behind and shot him.

The assailant fled to the interior portion of the barangay.

WOMAN DIES IN BIKE CRASH

A 21-YEAR-OLD woman was killed while her companion was wounded in a motorcycle crash in barangay Poblacion 3, Carcar City, southern Cebu.

Both women were not wearing crash helmets.

Christine Villamora, who drove the motorcycle, was declared dead when she and Hermes Tatoy, 19, were brought to the Carcar District Hospital.

Tatoy is recuperating in a Cebu City hospital.

Police said Villamora and her backrider had no helmets on when the accident took place at about 2 a.m. yesterday.

WOMAN HURT IN DANAO SHOOTING

A 35-YEAR-OLD woman was shot and wounded while driving a motorcycle in barangay Sabang, Danao City, northern Cebu.

Police are still investigating the motive for the attack.

Melanie Nuñez, an employee of Cebu Mitsumi, was headed for work when she was waylaid by a motorcycle-riding assailant at 6:05 p.m. last Wednesday.

About a kilometer from Mitsumi, a motorcycle with two men on board overtook Nuñez.

The backrider of the motorcycle fired at Nuñez, hitting her in the body.

The assailants drove off.
