MANILA, Philippines — Eid’l Adha shows the value of sacrifices for their families, communities, and the country, said Vice President Sara Duterte on Wednesday.

In her message for the Feast of Sacrifice, Duterte greeted the Muslim community.

“This sacred holiday illuminates the profound willingness of individuals to make significant sacrifices for their families, communities, and our nation. It reminds us of our shared capacity for selflessness, faith, and divine love for the greater good of our society,” said Duterte.

The Vice President hoped the holiday would help create an inclusive future.

“In the spirit of Eid Al Adha, may the lessons of faith and sacrifice guide us all as we endeavor to create an inclusive future for young Filipinos. Let us forge a nation built on understanding, peace, and shared prosperity,” she said.

Eid’l Adha commemorates the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son upon Allah’s command. However, Ibrahim was stopped by Allah after proving his faith.
