PSA issues over 70 million PhilIDs, ePhilIDs

MANILA, Philippines — More than 70 million Philippine Identification System IDs (PhilIDs) and ePhilIDs have been issued to registered Filipinos as of June 16, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said on Tuesday.

According to PSA, 70,271,330 Filipinos have been issued with PhilIDs and ePhilIDs under the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) implementation.

Of the total number of IDs issued, 33,422,502 PhilSys cards have already been delivered and 36,848,828 ePhilIDs can be already be downloaded and printed.

“The PSA shall continue its efforts in expediting the issuance of the PhilID and ePhilID. We encourage our kababayans [fellow Filipinos] who have received their PhilID and ePhilID to maximize its use in their transactions”, PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis Mapa said in a statement.

Registered Filipinos may check the PhilSys website to see if they can claim their ePhilIDs. Those who have received an official text message from the PSA may also download a PDF copy of the ePhilID on their mobile devices.

PSA also reassured the public that the PhilIDs affected in the Manila Central Post Office fire last May 21 would be prioritized and the IDs woud be reprinted immediately.
