MANILA, Philippines — Filipino seafarers may enjoy free rides on the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) on Sunday, June 25, as the country celebrates the Day of the Filipino Seafarer.
According to the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Maritime Industry Authority (Marina), in a joint advisory, free rides in LRT-2 will be offered from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, rides in MRT-3 will be free for seafarers the whole day starting at 5:30 a.m.
“Pinapaalalahan po ang lahat ng marino na ipakita lamang ang inyong valid na Seafarer’s Record Book (SRB) o kaya’y Seafarers’ Identity Document (SID) para makapag-avail ng libreng sakay,” DOTr and Marina said.
(All seafarers are reminded to present their valid Seafarer’s Record Book or Seafarers’ Identity Document to avail of the free ride.)
