MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has forged an agreement with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to boost the reintegration of overseas Filipino workers (OFW) who have just returned to the country.
The agreement, signed by DMW chief Susan Ople and Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual on National Migrant Worker’s Day on Wednesday, included assistance in the business registration process, inclusion of OFWs and their families in DTI’s business training and development programs, and financial literacy training courses.
A joint technical working group was created to monitor the implementation of the agreement while continuing to strengthen its implementation and work for its expansion through Migrant Workers Offices around the world and in cooperation with various local governments.
