DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur – Local police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) dismantled a drug den and arrested five individuals during a buy-bust operation in Bansalan town, Davao del Sur on Wednesday.
Mildred Driz-Romero, field officer of the PDEA Davao del Sur, led the operation in Purok Sampaloc of Barangay Poblacion Uno at past 3 a.m.
The drug den was allegedly operated by Rexon Rey Balbutin, 46, of Barangay Poblacion Uno. He agreed to sell crystal meth, locally known as shabu, to an undercover agent.
According to Capt. Orlando Udalve, chief of the Bansalan Municipal Police Station, four others were arrested.
He identified them as Dexter Gravador Alberca, 39, a pedicab driver; Dennis Tampipi Neri alias “Petra”, 43; Rey Montojo Pabica, 49, a habal-habal driver — all three from Digos City; and Shiela Mae Arellano Esposo, 22, of Malalag town, Davao del Sur.
Seized from the drug den were several sachets of suspected meth, drug-use paraphernalia, the marked 1,000-peso bills used by the poseur-buyer, and a mobile phone, the police report said.
The total value of the confiscated drugs was estimated at P115,000.
