MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. dreams of being known as the Chief Executive who helped the typical Filipino.

In his latest vlog, he revealed his aspirations while introducing the Malacañang Heritage Tours.

(That’s the legacy. I hope when I’m gone, people will remember me as a person who helped the common Filipino folk.)

At the same time, he said, he is not yet thinking about what legacy he will leave behind when he steps down in 2028.

(We are not thinking that much about legacy because of the many things we need to do. We should first work. If we do something good, that will be our legacy.)

(And we do not have to think this is being done so that I will be remembered. No. This is being done, we are all doing this, for the good and to help the people.)

Marcos was asked about legacy since his vlog showed a montage of him and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos honoring past presidents of the country.

One part of the tour covered Bahay Ugnayan that presented the incumbent President’s life and a feature called “road to Malacañang.”

During the event, Marcos met some of his supporters whom he used to talk with frequently before he became busy with the presidency.

The Chief Executive also relayed Goldenberg Mansion will now be used for arts and culture, while Teus Mansion will serve as a museum about past presidents.

Both mansions are located inside Malacañang in Manila.

(Teus Mansion is the museum for past presidents. After my term, I will be there and Bahay Ugnayan will be the museum for whoever the next president is.)

In May, Marcos formed an advisory board and a center for management of structures they called ‘Malacañang Heritage Mansions.’

This was meant to preserve and promote nation’s history, customs and traditions.

The buildings were opened last May 31.
