PNP: Mindoro radioman’s shooter identified; case prepared for filing
MANILA, Philippines — The gunman in the murder of a radio commentator in Oriental Mindoro has now been identified and authorities are preparing charges against the suspect, Philippine National Police chief Benjamin Acorda Jr. said on Monday in a case that has garnered interest as the alleged accomplice, a motorcycle driver, died when the victim’s son pursued and collided with their motorbike.
Riding-in-tandem gunmen shot dead radio commentator Cresenciano Aldovino Bunduquin in front of a store he owned along C5 road in Barangay Santa Isabel last Wednesday.
In a stunning turn of events, regional police reported later that one of the suspects driving the getaway motorbike was fatally injured after tumbling following a high-speed pursuit led by the victim’s son, resulting in a collision.

“Although it was a sad incident talaga (really), but based on the updates on our regional offices sa PRO (Police Regional Office) 4-B, ‘yung kaso (the case) is, I think it’s ready na (already),” Acorda said in a press briefing in Camp Crame.
Article continues after this advertisement“Ready for filing, identified na din ang suspect (perpetrator named), and we will give its specifics, especially names, once we [filed] a case,” he added.

“Ang assessment naman, I was assured by the regional director naman that it is a solid and strong case and fruitful naman ang investigation na ito,” the official said.
