The newly appointed head of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) said on Wednesday, May 31, that he would prioritize the release of the 53,000 overdue driver’s licenses and go after “fixers” in the agency.

Assistant Secretary Hector Villacorta said he was given 15 days to make an inventory of the LTO processes, adding that in cases of the driver’s licenses, he found out that there were some 53,000 that have not yet been issued to applicants due to the lack of plastic cards. —JEROME ANING
