Classes in 7 Cagayan towns still suspended due to Betty

TUGUEGARAO CITY — Classes at all levels in both public and private schools remained suspended on Tuesday (May 30) in the towns of Calayan, Gonzaga, Camalaniugan, Gattaran, Claveria, Amulung, and Pamplona, all in Cagayan province.

The mayors of the seven towns declared the suspension of classes through executive orders.

Cagayan Gov. Manuel Mamba earlier announced that classes would have resumed in the entire province on Tuesday, but he said he would leave the discretion to the mayors.

In Santa Ana town, an old and abandoned warehouse collapsed due to strong winds in Santa Ana, Cagayan on Monday afternoon.

Marion Miranda, Santa Ana disaster risk management officer, said the warehouse at Port Irene collapsed at about 2 p.m. on Monday.

No injuries were reported as the warehouse has been long abandoned, he added. INQ
