Manila, Philippines — The city government of Makati and the Department of Tourism (DOT) on Monday launched a cultural bus tour.

This is part of their program to promote the city’s heritage sites, museums, and lifestyle centers through a transportation system and a mobile app.

In a statement, Makati Mayor Abby Binay explained the city was chosen as the pilot site for DOT’s ‘Hop on, Hope Off’ (HOHO) project.

“Through the collaboration between the Department of Tourism and the City Government of Makati, we are opening doors to a new era of tourism,” Binay said.

“Together, we are creating opportunities for residents and visitors to discover the vibrant heritage and lifestyle that Makati has to offer,” she noted.

The HOHO bus tour operates Wednesdays to Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

It has eight stops – Glorietta 2, Washington SyCip Park, RCBC Plaza, Circuit Makati, Century City, Museo ng Makati, Rockwell Center, and Ayala Triangle.

“Makati City boasts a rich tapestry of history, art, and natural beauty that deserves to be celebrated,” said Binay.

To book tours, individuals need to download the HOHO mobile application and sign up.

One-day passes cost P990.

It gives travelers with unlimited access to HOHO bus stops throughout the day.

Meanwhile, residents and Makati City Hall personnel with ‘Makatizen Cards’ may avail of a 40 percent discount for the adventure.
