MANILA, Philippines — Authorities arrested two men and seized P25.8 million worth of suspected crystal meth or “shabu” during a buy-bust operation in Caloocan City, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said Sunday.
In a report, the NCRPO said operatives of the Caloocan City Police Station and Valenzuela City Police Station arrested Edgardo Vargas, 42, and Lenard Buenaventura, 20, in Barangay 160 early morning Saturday.
The suspects, whom police consider “high-value” individuals in its anti-drug campaign, yielded approximately 3,800 grams of suspected shabu and one .32 caliber gun with 32 rounds of live ammunition, the report said. The estimated value of the seized illegal drug was P25,840,000.
