Man shot dead in Cordova

A 20-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead by an unidentified assailant in barangay Poblacion, Cordova town, off Mactan Island, Cebu.

Police said no one came forward to testify account on the killing of Christian Pitogo, a resident of barangay Cogon.

Ronelio Baguio, security guard of the Cordova Central School, told police that he heard three gunshots at 11:45 p.m. last Saturday.

Baguio said he checked the origin of the gunfire and found a bloodied Pitogo slumped on the ground outside an unoccupied house.

Police said further investigation will be made to identify the assailants and determine the motive of the killing./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
