Two alleged big-time drug traffickers were arrested on Saturday night, November 12, and yielded over P251-million worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Imus City in Cavite province.

LUCENA CITY — Police arrested two alleged members of a drug group and seized more than P172,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in Dasmariñas City in Cavite province on Friday, May 26.

Cavite police chief Col. Christopher Olazo said in a report released Saturday that anti-illegal drugs operatives nabbed Raymond Gurriba, 35, and Jamal Mangondato, 28, after they sold a pack of shabu to a police agent in Barangay (village) Datu Esmael around 6:30 p.m.

Authorities confiscated 25 grams of shabu with a street value of P172,500 from the arrested suspects, both classified as “high-value” targets in the government’s war against illegal drugs.

The police tagged the suspects as alleged members of a drug group operating in the province.

The suspects were detained at the city police jail and are facing charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
