DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur – A woman who regained her freedom in 2018 is back in jail after anti-narcotics agents caught her on Thursday selling meth.

Ivy Basaya Pado, 41, of Barangay San Jose here, fell into the trap set up by the police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operatives during a buy-bust operation past 2 p.m. on Thursday.

Lt. Col. Hamlet Lerios, acting city police chief, said that Pado sold a sachet of meth to a police officer acting as poseur-buyer. When she was eventually arrested, four more sachets of meth were found in her possession after being frisked.

The seized illegal substance weighed 3.4 grams in all, with an estimated street value of P51,000.

Pado had previously been arrested in 2016 on charges related to illegal drugs and served more than two years in prison, according to police records.

Police began investigating Pado again after her name resurfaced in intelligence reports about those involved in the retail distribution of meth.
