DAVAO CITY–Police are looking for the suspects who shot and killed a former soldier inside his store here on Wednesday night.
Maj. Catherine dela Rey, Davao City Police Office spokesperson, identified the victim as Gerardo Sardan Katigbak, 36, of Mutual Homes in Buhangin village.
Dela Rey said the incident happened as the victim was inside his store with his live-in partner and their helper at Lakandula St. corner Jerome Extension, Barangay R. Castillo at around 9:30 p.m.
An unidentified man with a full-face helmet on and wearing a gray jacket and jeans suddenly barged in and shot the victim at close range, hitting him several times before hopping on a waiting Raider motorcycle driven by another person and fleeing.
The victim died on the scene.
Dela Rey said witnesses also saw another motorcycle outside the store with two persons on board who served as lookouts.
According to his live-in partner, the victim had been receiving death threats after he survived an ambush last July.
An investigation into the incident was now being conducted, dela Rey said.
