Over 40% of elementary teachers pass LET; 46.94% pass for high school
MANILA, Philippines — Over 40 percent of those who took the 2023 Licensure Exam for Teachers (LET) for elementary education passed while 46.94 percent passed the LET for secondary level, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) said on Friday.
The PRC released its results on Friday, 42 working days after the exam was administered. The total number of passers for the elementary level was at 24,819 out of 60,896 (40.76 percent); and for the secondary level, 48,005 out of 102,272 examiners.
The percentage of exam passers 2023 for both categories are slightly lower than previous editions: the 40.76 percent for the elementary exams is the lowest since September 2019 — when the passing rate was at just 31.34 percent. After that, the percentage of passers went to as high as 55.96 percent (September 2021).
Similarly, the 46.94 percent for the secondary level LET is slightly down from October 2022’s 50.94 percent, June 2022’s 50.48 percent, and September 2021’s 57.76 percent.
