MANILA, Philippines — The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) on Thursday said that one of its trains encountered a “start-up interlocking error,” resulting in a brief pause in service.
According to MRT-3 in an advisory, the train was en route to Ortigas Station (southbound) at 9:29 a.m. when the glitch occurred.
The MRT-3 management explained that the malfunction arises “when a train door could only partially close.”
“For [the] safety of all passengers, the train was temporarily halted until [the] error was resolved by on-board technicians,” it said.
Technicians fixed the issue at 9:33 a.m., allowing the train to get back on track.
“Effect on train operations is minimal at estimated 4 minutes recoverable delay,” the MRT-3 management noted.
“The MRT-3 apologizes for the inconvenience to the affected passengers,” it added.
