Signaling server glitch halts MRT-3 operations
MANILA, Philippines — The Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) halted train operations on Tuesday early afternoon after encountering a glitch in its signaling server at the North Avenue Station, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said.
According to DOTr in an advisory, the MRT-3 Control Center reported an abnormal status of the signaling server at North Avenue station at around 1:55 p.m.
“As a safety precautionary measure, all trains were advised to stop at the nearest stations while technical personnel troubleshoot the issue,” DOTr said.
Due to this, no trains were moving for 30 minutes, from 2:05 p.m. to 2:35 p.m., or until the signaling server was normalized.
“Regular operations resumed [by 2:35 p.m.] with 14 CKD trains running,” said the DOTr.
“Our deep apologies to the passengers affected by the incident,” it added.
