Police raided a company in Pasig City being outsourced by notorious online lending apps (OLAs) for harassing its borrowers who failed to pay the money they borrowed.
Agents of the Anti-Cybercrime Group of the Philippine National Police served a warrant to search, seize and examine computer data of Realm Shifters Business Process Outsourcing Services, owned by a certain Jennifer Mangubat Salvador, on Mercedes Avenue in Barangay San Miguel at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
The National Privacy Commission has ordered OLAs to stop the use of their clients’ personal data to shame delinquent borrowers.
