Metro Manila’s heat index reaches ‘danger’ category for 5th straight day — Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — The heat index in Metro Manila reached the “danger” category for the fifth consecutive day, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Monday.
Pagasa’s station in Pasay City recorded a heat index of 43 degrees Celsius at around 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 15.
Metro Manila’s heat index from May 11 to 13 was 42 degrees Celsius and rose to 43 degrees Celsius on Sunday, May 14.
Based on Pagasa’s metrics, a heat index under the “danger” category ranges from 42 to 51 degrees Celsius.
