TACLOBAN CITY — A man who was allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade was killed in a shootout with policemen and members of the regional drug enforcement unit in Barangay Tambulid, Ormoc City at about 1:40 a.m. on Monday, May 15.

Allan Bulahan, 38, yielded shabu (methamphetamine) with a commercial value of P10.2 million, one of the biggest hauls by the local police in the region in years.

Report from the Ormoc City police showed that a poseur buyer approached the suspect to buy illegal drugs.

However, the suspect noticed he was being set up, prompting him to get his gun to engage law enforcers in a gunfight.

Bulahan was subsequently killed.

He was brought to the Ormoc District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Seized from him were seven sachets of suspected shabu weighing 1.5 kilograms with a street value of P 10.2 million.

Bulahan was listed as a high-value individual by the regional police office due to his involvement in illegal drugs.
