Cloudy skies, rain showers in parts of Luzon; fair weather in rest of PH
MANILA, Philippines — The frontal system and the southwesterly surface wind flow will bring cloudy skies and rain showers in most parts of Luzon, while fair, hot weather is expected to be observed in the rest of the country on Monday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
According to state weather specialist Obet Badrina, the frontal system continues to affect the northern part of Luzon. At the same time, the southwesterly surface wind flow was observed in the southern and central parts of the region.
“Dahil dito, malaki ang tsansa ng maulap na kalangitan sa bahagi ng Batanes at Babuyan Islands, habang malaki naman yung tsansa ng mga thunderstorms particular na dito sa may Ilocos region at sa ilang bahagi ng Central Luzon kasama na rin dito sa kamaynilaan,” Badrina said in a morning weather forecast.
(Because of this, cloudy skies will prevail in most parts of Batanes and Babuyan Islands, while there is a high chance of thunderstorms, particularly here in the Ilocos region and some parts of Central Luzon, including Metro Manila.)
On the other hand, Badrina said that the rest of the country will experience hot, humid weather with a chance of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
Badrina noted that no low-pressure area was spotted inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
He added that there is a low chance that a tropical cyclone will develop in the next two to three days, and no gale warning had been raised in the country’s coastal waters.
Meanwhile, Pagasa issued its estimated temperature ranges in key cities and areas across the country for Monday. These are:
Metro Manila: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
Baguio City: 17 to 25 degrees Celsius
Laoag City: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
Tuguegarao: 26 to 35 degrees Celsius
Legazpi City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
Puerto Princesa City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
Tagaytay: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
Kalayaan Islands: 27 to 33 degrees Celsius
Iloilo City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
Cebu: 27 to 32 degrees Celsius
Tacloban City: 27 to 33 degrees Celsius
Cagayan De Oro City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
Zamboanga City: 26 to 34 degrees Celsius
Davao City: 25 to 35 degrees Celsius
