MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Tuesday said it intercepted 560 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P3.8 million at a warehouse. on Monday.
In a statement, the BOC said that its operatives, together with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Naia Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (Naia-IADITG), raided the DHL Express Gateway Warehouse on Monday.
The BOC said the contraband was concealed and misdeclared as eyelash sets, electric hair dryers, and e-hairbrushes.
The shipper and consignee are undergoing investigation by PDEA and will face formal complaints for violating Republic Act Nos. 9165 and 10863 or the Customs Modernization Act.
“We will continue to be vigilant in our border protection efforts to prevent dangerous drugs and other contraband that come in
and out of our country,” BOC Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubi said.
“This successful interception is a testament to the effective joint enforcement of our Customs and inter-agency partners
