UP Diliman is top PH university

The University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman campus emerged as the top education institution in the country for 2023, based on the independent metric-based ranking website Edurank.

The website said it ranked the top 100 universities in the Philippines based on research outputs, nonacademic prominence, and alumni influence.

“The rankings are determined by analyzing 373,000 citations received by 30,400 academic publications made by 229 universities from the Philippines, the popularity of 889 recognized alumni, and the largest reference database available,” Edurank said.

Among the courses with the most publications and citations in UP Diliman are in the field of engineering, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.

UP Diliman also ranked 378th out of 5,830 universities in Asia and 1,380th out of 14,131 universities from 183 countries.

De La Salle University (DLSU) landed on the second spot, making it the leading private higher education institution in the list.

DLSU is followed by Ateneo de Manila University, University of Santo Tomas, UP Manila, UP Los Baños, University of San Carlos in Cebu, Mindanao State University, Asian Institute of Management and Mapua University.—Jane Bautista, INQ
