Cebu darters face tough foes
CEBUANO darters will face stiff competition when they compete in the fourth edition of the Cebu City Mayor’s Cup-M. Lhuillier National Darts Open on April 20 to 22 at the Yayoy’s Grill and Resto Bar.
Among the top contenders include the country’s No. 1 darter Ian Perez of Koronadal City. He will be joined by other noted darters such as Lawrence Ilagan of Rizal, Boy Gionzon of Navotas, Makati’s Boie Parfan, Davao’s Jojo Barellano and Andy Villamor of Butuan.
Team Cebu City will be composed of Jomar Amerol, Winnie Ocanada, Rodmar Branzuela, Rayden Colina, Raniel Pedrosa, Jerome Perales, Frank Bejec, Alvin Villa, Caloy Narita Boy Campugan and Etong Badayos.
They will be backed up by Cebu City’s rookies Dodong Abano, Yummy Rensulat and Madz Colong.
“We are looking at tough competition so we will do our best to win,” said Cebu City Hall Employee Darts Association (CHEDA) president Bert Colong Jr.
The categories in the National Darts Federation of the Philippines (NDFP)-sanctioned event will be the coveted men’s open, ladies, youth and seniors singles, fixed doubles, classified draw doubles and triples and Councilor’s Cup (four-man team). /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
