MANILA, Philippines — Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) turned over to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) all of the properties, records, assets and documents that the board has pertaining to the latter’s regional office.

LTFRB board member Mercy Leynes says, this is to enable the BARMM to function autonomously.

“I’m giving the digital record of BARMM routes, the digital copy of the jurisdiction of the region, the records for 1,629 public utility jeepneys and 19 utility vehicles that are under the Bangsamoro,” said LTFRB Region 12 regional director Paterno Reynato.

Atty. Paisalin Tago from the Ministry of Transportation and Communication describes the event as a milestone.

“Our turnover is not just a turnover of documents. It is a turnover of responsibility. It is a turnover of love. It is a turnover of commitment of LTFRB to support the public servants in BARMM,” Tago said.

The activity follows the Bangsamoro Organic Law signed by former President Rodrigo Duterte in 2018.

It mandates national government to transfer properties and assets to the Bangsamoro regional government.
