WASHINGTON D.C., United States — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Thursday paid his respects to America’s veterans by offering a wreath at the Arlington National Cemetery.

Marcos led the wreath-laying ceremony before the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the cemetery in Virginia.

He was accompanied by Maj. Allan Pepin, the commanding general of the US Army Military District of Washington.

Arlington National Cemetery is the final resting place for more than 400,000 service members, veterans and their families.

The cemetery serves as a national shrine dedicated to those who honorably served the US during times of war, including every military conflict in American history, and times of peace.
