Active COVID-19 cases in Olongapo City slightly up

Olongapo City posts zero COVID-19 cases for 3 straight days

OLONGAPO CITY — At least four new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in this city, which began to experience a slight increase in active infections in the past few days, data showed on Wednesday, May 3.

The local health office said the new cases raised the number of active infections in the city to 10.

Six other suspected COVID-19 cases were being monitored by healthcare workers.

On April 28, the city got five new cases of the viral disease, bringing the total to 11 active infections that day.

Since the pandemic struck in 2020, the city has recorded 7,644 COVID-19 cases with 371 deaths.

Some areas in the country have been experiencing an increasing positivity rate, which refers to the percentage of tests that turn out positive, according to pandemic monitor OCTA Research.
